Loren “Phred” Sevening — Secretary Dennis “Rass” Rassmussen
Jim McLendon Joe Hurst
Lee AnthonyKenny O’Neal
Doug HoldenWayne Amann — AFISRA/PA
Maj Marcos Garcia — AFISRA Anniversary Events Chair

2.  MINUTES: The Minutes of the March 2009 meeting were read and approved.

3.  TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer’s report was presented, and filed for audit.

4.  OLD BUSINESS

a.  SPRING SOCIAL. The event was a great success. Maj Gen Heithold, Air Force ISR Agency Commander, delivered an excellent presentation to the audience. Discussion about the cost of the event and other issues led to interest in pursuing a place off-base to hold the spring social next year. Several venues were suggested as potential locations. We have a full year to find a place. Will need a POC, if anyone is interested in taking this on.

b.  CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS.  Joe Hurst made several changes to the Constitution and Bylaws, which were discussed around the room. The decision was made to post the revised documents on the FTVA website, and advertise to the FTVA General Membership to review the documents, as final approval will be done by a general membership vote at the annual general membership meeting September 26, 2009 (in conjunction with the Anniversary events). Bob Baert will spearhead actions to notify general membership.

5. NEW BUSINESS.

a.  SECURITY HILL TOP III. At the request of the President of Security Hill Top III Association, motion was made, seconded, and approved to donate $250 to help fund their annual car show fundraiser.

b.  ANNIVERSARY UPDATE:  Major Marcos Garcia, the AFISRA Anniversary lead, presented an excellent timeline and POC roster to clearly recap all actions taken, along with open items. Around the room consensus is that he set the bar a little higher regarding HQ AFISRA management actions for the Anniversary events.

c. THE LAST SECURITY SERVICE AIRMAN IN UNIFORM.  Topic presented for discussion regarding the fact that 30 years ago this year the Air Force Security Service was “retired” and replaced by the Electronic Security Command. Because the event happened 30 years ago, there is a chance that there may still be somebody in uniform who served with Security Service. If so, that person should be very close to retiring. HQ AFISRA/A1 POC, Maj Marcos Garcia, will scrutinize personnel records to determine if anyone in uniform served with USAFSS, and if so we will help craft plans to truly commemorate that person’s retirement to reflect passing of a significant era.

d.  FTVA WEBSITE BLOCKED ON NIPRNET. Because of increased network security requirements, the FTVA website is blocked from access through NIPRNET. Phred will collaborate with A6 to try to get that unblocked.

7.  CORRESPONDENCE.  Received a nice letter from TSgt Mark Richardson, the Chief of the Air Force ISR Agency SENSOR OLYMPICS program, notifying us that the name has been changed to the Major General Doyle E. Larson SENSOR OLYMPICS program.

8.  AROUND THE ROOM.

a.  Wayne Amman, AFISRA/PA announced that PA and the AFISRA media shop created a new video depicting many locations and items of interest throughout the Agency.

b.  The AFISRA Ambassadors are now using Twitter to share all their activities. Wayne Amman from AFISRA/PA is interested in knowing what other organizations related to AFISRA and its predecessor organizations may be using social networking software to pursue sharing the information with a wider audience.

9.  There being no further business, motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn at 1450.  Next meeting will be May 15, 2009 in the SSFCU Board Room, starting at 1330.

Respectfully Submitted,

LOREN R. “PHRED” SEVENING
FTVA Secretary
