- Ted advised that due to the Senate GO confirmation impasse, Gen(S) Haugh will be a no-go as Guest Speaker at this year’s banquet. An invite has been sent to MG Hensley as Lt Gen Kennedy will be out of town. 16 AF will officially support the HoH, Remembrance ceremony and 5K, and Lt Gen Kennedy has expressed support for the picnic (Booster Club led) with that Friday being designated a “Phoenix Friday”. The golf tournament is purely an FTVA event and NAF members wishing to participate will need to be on leave. Bob Benitez is again running the golf tournament. The Booster Club can’t serve beer at the picnic. The annual General Membership Meeting will be held Saturday morning before the Banquet will be conducted via Zoom.
- Ted is working with Tom Nury on Pins & certificates to honor Vietnam era vets/survivors the night of the Banquet. Tom advised that the Heritage Chapter has established a website: vietnam50thcpp.com and recommended the FTVA provide this link in conjunction with all notifications related to this year’s events. He likewise asked for the FTVA’s link information to reciprocate.
- New Business:
- Ted noted that nominations are needed for the President position. A discussion followed regarding allowing non-local members to be considered for Executive Board and all concurred. One caveat was discussed dealing with the banking aspect being a local requirement. Ted took an action to notify the Chapter President’s of the nomination solicitation.
- Ken W. provided an update on HoH notifications/responses, and as of the meeting had heard from four of the six nominees. Lee advised that he would go ahead and send what he has to 16 AF Protocol to make sure they were tracking. It was also noted that Angela Palazzo needs access info for visitors without ID cards and that a “Real ID” or Passport is required. Ted let Ken M. know that he needs the $2K check for the Booster Club for the picnic.
- Dennis advised that the next RIT would go out in Dec.
- Lee noted the great job the HoH committee did this year and also offered $300 from Nets on the Run to support the 5K.
