1. The FTVA board convened at the LAFB Gateway club on 23 Feb 2024. Meeting called to order by FTVA President, Bill Brockmiller, at 1305L
In attendance were Ken Maynard (Treasurer), Pepito Figueroa (Vice President), Daniel Martin (Historian), Andy Smith (incoming Treasurer), Lee Anthony (Hall of Honor director), Ted Colquhoun (past president), and Roy Burnett (Member Support).
2.January minutes – minutes were emailed to all, reviewed and approved.
3. Financial report (details were previously emailed out).
4. Lee Anthony brought various pieces of mail that SSCFU had forwarded to him.
5. Old Business:
a. The Spring Social is upcoming 16 March. If CMSgt Hopkins is not able to be the guest speaker, the new TD, Brian Cook, is ready to step up. Ted mentioned he will confirm on Monday. Invite cards have already been sent. Ken W. estimates approximately 60 attendees.
b. Ted mentioned CMSgt Hopkins has reinvigorate the Larson Olympics, focusing on ISR and Cyber specialties. He plans on getting significant help from the Booster club. There will be monthly meetings to flesh this out of the next few. When asked if the FTVA will be allowed to significantly support, the answer was yes, details to be ironed out over the next couple months.
c. The Vigilant Partners POC was Mark Hess. Bam Rolirad is interested in helping in this area. Ted will follow up with he on Monday.
6. New Business:
a. Ted reminded folks he gets to retire soon – his last day will be 20 March.
b. Adding the PayPal QR code to the Remain in Touch had been discussed via email. Ken Maynard mentioned that we ought to do more research as there might be better, less costly, alternatives. Andy Smith and I had discussed this as we need to ensure we make it easy enough for younger and legacy members.
c. Around the room – Remain in Touch inputs are due by 1 March.
d. I reminded all that we were working on an updatable membership roster. I ran into a snag updating user info, working with D3fy. In working with them, we’ve fixed the email issue for resetting password as a collateral benefit.
7. The next board meeting at the Gateway club will be 221300L March, just after the Spring Social.
