Minutes from FTVA Board Meeting 24 Feb 2023

1. The FTVA board convened at the LAFB Gateway club on 24 Feb 2023. 

Ted Colquhoun (President), Ken Maynard (Treasurer), Evan Smith (Secretary), Ken Williams (Social Chair), Dan Martin (Historian), Pepito Figueroa (Remembrance), Dennis Buxton (RIT), and Roy Burnett (Admin)

1. Old/New Business:
   1. Ted presented suggested revisions that Lee Anthony is suggesting for the HoH Charter to include removing the stipulation of having to be an FTVA member to nominate someone and expand the annual number of selects from 4 to 6.  Ken Williams brought up the fact that current serving civilians are also disadvantaged by the current Charter restrictions.  Lee will discuss his proposal with the HoH Committee and come back with a final recommendation to be put to a vote.
   2. Discussed the current state of the website.  Roy will reach out to Cody to get an update.  Dennis noted that while he can log in, previous RIT editions are still not posted.  Roy will also reach out to Scott Lawson to ping Cody from that end.  Ken Maynard requested all the admin passwords so he can have his contact take a look at the site.  It may be that she turns out to be a better option than Cody.  More to follow…
   3. Dennis noted that RIT inputs are due by 1 March.
   4. Discussed status of the Insurance Policy for the Board and Chapters.  Ted said he’d reach out to Brock for an update.  Ted subsequently got an update from Brock that he was finalizing the contract papers and would be submitting forward for payment in the near future.
   5. Ken Williams provided a Social update noting that per Dottie, Lt Gen Kennedy is confirmed as the Guest Speaker at the 25 March FTVA Social.  Invites would be going out for mailing on 3 March with RSVPs needed by 22 March.  There will be hors d’oeuvres for 80-100 guests  and a pay as you go bar.
   6. Ted and Evan will follow-up with SSFCU to ensure all correspondence is being mailed to Ken vs. Lee since Lee received the most recent interest statement.
   7. Pepito let Roy know that the Obit section of the webpage needs updating, they’ll be working it.
   8. Ted made an executive decision that all future meetings will be held on the fourth Friday of each month.  The Spring Social in March will serve as the March meeting.
