FREEDOM THROUGH VIGILANCE ASSOCIATION

PO BOX 691616

San Antonio, TX 78269-1616

1. The FTVA board convened at the LAFB Gateway club on 21 Jun 2024 and via Zoom.

2. Meeting was called to order by FTVA president at 1301L on 21 June 24. Members in attendance were Roy Burnett, Ted Colquhoun, Bill Brockmiller, Ken Williams, Ken Maynard, Dennis Buxton, Daniel Martin. Via Zoom, John “Tilly” Tillson (Aloha Chapter) and Sharon Frizzell (Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter (MARC)).

3. Financials were discussed. There may have to be some funds moved to cover day-to- day expenses. Ken Maynard submitted an annual IRS filing. There will a docusign effort again that has to go in order. The SSFCU folks stated that Roy Burnett was/is listed as having access (this is most likely a remnant of me processing membership check), and that name should be removed.

4. Old buisness:
a. Web pages. Roy mentioned that all chapters were offered distro lists for their various boards, offered to all six existing chapters and three have taken us up on the offer – actions complete. He also offered to each chapter space on the FTVA.us site and to date none have taken us up on the offer. (MARC uses Facebook extensively, Wasach chapter uses their own site and works well for them). It was agreed that Roy should reach out and offer both to all again and ensure FTVA president and vice are cc’d.
b. Golf Tournament hole sponsorships: Roy asked if we’ve done this previously and Ted related that prior to COVID we did. The idea may have merit, but it will take at least another person to help make this happen. Pepito volunteered to help support.
c. The Remembrance ceremony will take place on the Lackland bomb-run (aka the older parade field). d. As Bob had previously stated, we discussed that the cost for a foursome for the 2024 tournament will go up, but it is still a Great price for San Antonio.
e. Add reunion info to the FTVA.us site. Action to Roy (Done) Location information may still be pending.

5. New Business:
a. Vigilant Partners Program: It was discussed the Karen Rolirad accepted and will serve as our new POC (website updated). As a group, we need to review the current list, ensure accuracy and have either (possibly both) the new POC or President engage with all the VPs to see if and how they may still support the FTVA. The VP program needs better visibility and needs to be linked on the top menu (Done).
b. Around the room (virtual or physical):
Aloha – much in the RiT inputs; MARC – Still building, we have momentum.
c. The next RiT inputs are due by 1 September.
d. A couple panels that show the Hall of Honors plaques needs to be created. If the ceremonies for the reunion are moved out of the BALA these could be used to display the information very well.
e. WRT the upcoming retirement in San Angelo, it was decided that several of the board members want to attend but not be a center piece and present a give from the FTVA.
