Minutes from FTVA Board Meeting 17 Nov 2023
- The FTVA board convened at the LAFB Gateway club on 17 Jun 2023 and via
Zoom. Participants included:
Bill Brockmiller (President), Evan Smith (Secretary), Ken Maynard
(Treasurer) (Social Chair), Ken Williams (Social Chair) ,Dan Martin
(Historian), Roy Burnett (Admin), Ted Colquhoun, John Tollion, John
Aurellius - Old Business: Recapped banquet successes and follow-up actions. Ted highlighted Heritage Chapter and the Vietnam Vet pin ceremony. Pepito noted that any Vietnam era vet is eligible to be pinned, just need to pass him the info to get the ball rolling. Dan noted that in the Annual Meeting minutes his suggestion to get photos of the plaques in the Bala wasn’t fully captured and explained that the intent was to make poster boards of the plaques that could be displayed at the club if that will be the HoH forum next year. Ken Williams discussed color programs for next year vs black and white…Ted said we have a volunteer…. 3. New Business: Discussed Golf
- New Business: Discussed Golf for next year and moving the price to $60; all agreed it’s still a good deal…discussed looking at the base course for comparison. Tilly gave an update from Hawaii and noted they were still mourning the passing of Dickie Hites and that a memorial service was upcoming. Ha also noted that the VA veterans’ liaisons were assisting Jackie with requisite paperwork etc. All agreed that Bam Rolirad is a great choice to pick up Vigilant Partners. Ted said he’d reach out to Ron Haygood to see if he could get in contact with Mark Hess to facilitate a hand-off of any related details to Bam. Ken Williams discussed Spring event and 23 March was tentatively pinned in as the date. Briefly discussed having annual Directors lunch…previously held these at Outback…will discuss at Dec meeting
